St. Peter's E-News:

E-News for Friday, November 13, 2020

Dear Friends,

This is our last Sunday to Journey with Jesus. We will focus on using our talents as we await the coming of God’s Kingdom.

We are entering into the holiday season this year with many modifications. The Turkey Supper will be a curbside affair. There will be no Cantata performance or Advent Tea. There will be a Cookie Sale with prepacked cookies for those like me who enjoy eating the wonderful baked goods that members of our congregation create.

There will always be signs of God’s faith, love, hope and salivation no matter what else may be happening. Let’s keep that faith, love and hope alive in our hearts and in the world.

We will be worshipping in person and livestreaming via Facebook 9am on Sunday mornings. You need not have a Facebook account to watch and listen. You are in my thoughts and prayers. If you need anything, please call my cell phone 573-832-2475.

  • The Funeral Service for Art Enke will be on Tuesday, November 17 at 11am at Gottenstroeters Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Monday, November 16 at 4pm.
  • A curbside Turkey Supper will be held on Saturday, November 21 with a limited menu. There will be no Quilt Auction or Country Store this year.
  • Cookie Sale will be on Saturday, December 12. Boxes will be prepackaged and sold from the church foyer. Please bring your cookies to church by Thursday, December 10.
  • I’m looking for
    • Woodworkers to make simple Advent Candle holders to give to our church members who choose to worship at home this Advent season.
    • People to help make luminaries for Christmas and Advent worship. Please let me know, if you can help.
    • Writers to create a short (100-200-word reflection) for each of the Sundays in Advent. These reflections will be included in the mailing for the week.
  • Totenfest will be on Sunday, November 22 with a Blue Christmas theme. There is a Christmas tree with blue lights on it. If you have an ornament that you would like to hang on the tree to remember a loved one who passed, please bring it to church. If you have a photo of a loved one that you would like to have included in a slide show that I will create, please send it to me as an email attachment or drop it by church

Prayers and Blessings,

Pastor Stephanie DeLong
