St. Peter's E-News:

E-News for Friday, September 18, 2020

Dear Friends,

We are truly living in a strange time. Two weeks ago, our Church Council was concerned about the rapid increase in Covid-19 infections in Gasconade County. We suspended in person worship for two Sundays. The Church Council had their regular meeting on Monday, September 14 via Zoom. After a thoughtful discussion, the council agreed that we could return to socially distanced in person worship at 9am on Sunday. We understand that many of you like the idea that you may worship in the sanctuary, even if you choose to remain home for worship on Sunday morning. We will continue with the weekly mailings, Worship at Home on the website, Sunday School at Home on the website and Facebook Live Worship at 9am on Sunday morning. During this strange time, we would like for you to have the option to worship in the way that is best for you spiritually, emotionally and physically.

We are continuing in our Stewardship Theme of 3 Great Loves. The prayer of dedication written by Rev. Susan Blain expresses the love of Creation. If you have an opportunity please let me know what it is that you love about St. Peter’s so that I can include it in the worship service for Sunday, September 27. I would like to encourage all of you to turn in your time and talent sheets along with your pledge cards this month.

We will still be livestreaming via Facebook 9am on Sunday mornings. You need not have a Facebook account to watch and listen. You are in my thoughts and prayers. If you need anything, please call my cell phone 573-832-2475.

  • We have canning lids. Apple Butter making date will need to be rescheduled due to other concerns such as availability of volunteers and apple sauce.
  • We are collecting Dental Kits for the Festival of Sharing. Please see the September newsletter for more information.
  • October Newsletter Articles are due.
  • The Eastern Association Meeting will be held via Zoom on Saturday, September 9:00 prior to the Conference Zoom meeting to approve the Budget and Install Rev. Damien Lake as our Associate Conference Minister.
  • CROP Walk will be on Sunday, October 11 at 2pm. You may walk as a socially distanced walker from Buschmann Park, or you may choose to be a virtual walker. Virtual Walker means that you raise money, but do not walk with the group.

Prayers and Blessings,

Pastor Stephanie DeLong
