Weekly E-News from St. Peter's UCC for May 15, 2020

E-News for Friday, May 15, 2020

Dear Friends,

I hope that you had a good Mother’s Day last Sunday. This week our Gospel lesson talks about the Holy Spirit being a Companion and Comforter for us. As you read through John 14:15-21, contemplate all the ways that you have felt the Holy Spirit’s presence in your life. I would love to hear your stories of how the Holy Spirit has been there to sustain you in times of trouble and to offer strength in times of need.

The Church Council will be meeting again on Monday, May 18 at 7pm to continue the plans for reopening the church for worship. There are a lot of details that need to be considered and tasks to be done. Please keep the Church Council in your prayers as they make these difficult plans and decisions.

On Sunday, May 31 we will have confirmation for our six confirmands. Due to restrictions on the number of people who can safely be in our sanctuary, it has been decided to limit worship attendance on Sunday, May 31 to confirmands, their families, worship leaders and a few church council members. The service will be available on Facebook Live at 9am for those who would like to watch the service at home.

We are hoping to find ways to accommodate more people in worship beginning in June. Worship at Home resources will be mailed each week until we can all safely worship together. Everyone who attends worship will need to follow safe social distancing guidelines. I will let you know more in detail as the Church Council works out what those procedures will be. Thank you so much for your patience.

As part of our gradual reopening, I plan to have office hours this week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9am to Noon. If you would like to stop by the church during these times, I welcome you. I am praying for you. If you need me for anything, please call my cell phone number 573-832-2475.

Praying,

Pastor Stephanie
