Leader Information

Thank you for your commitment to this year’s confirmation class! We think that this retreat will be a great way to start your program year by getting to know each other, team building, bible exploration and encounters with God.

Here are a few things that we want you leaders to know:

  • Each leader is responsible for administering all medication to the confirmands in their group.

 

  • Each leader is responsible for having medical information along with parent contact information for each of their confirmands.

 

  • Each leader will be a part of every aspect of this retreat. This is a journey for the leaders to take alongside their confirmands.

 

  • Please fill out the enclosed class registration form and send it, along with the individual registration forms, signed covenants and full payment ($90 each) for each of your confirmands to Camp MoVal no later than August 24th.

Youth Covenant

 

  1. I promise to participate in all activities so that I can learn and grow from this experience.
  2. I promise to treat all people with dignity and respect.
  3. I promise to respect other people’s property.
  4. I promise to use the facility and all equipment with care. If I accidently hurt or damage any camp property, I will take responsibility for the damage done and tell my adult leader or a member of the retreat planning committee immediately.
  5. I promise not to use any tobacco products/juuling/vapor products of any kind.
  6. I promise not to bring any type of weapon with me to this event.
  7. I promise not to bring or use alcohol and/or illicit drugs.
  8. I promise not to engage in sexual activity.
  9. I promise not to allow anyone in my cabin who is not housed in that cabin.

10. I promise to be mindful of my roommate’s right to privacy.

  1. I promise to honor the “lights out” times and respect other people’s rights and their need to sleep.

12. I promise not to leave Camp MoVal or to travel outside of the immediate camp buildings without permission from an adult leader. I will absolutely not travel anywhere alone.

 

ANYONE WHO BREAKS ANY PART OF THIS COVENANT IS AT RISK OF BEING SENT HOME IMMEDIATELY WITHOUT A REFUND.

Packing List

Please bring the following:

Comfortable clothes and shoes that fit the weather

Pajamas

Sleeping bag/sheet and blanket and a pillow

Towel and Wash Cloth

Wash kit (shampoo/conditioner, soap, deodorant etc.)

Any necessary medication (in its original packaging with appropriate dosing information)

Bible per confirmand

Please leave the following at home:

Anything of value

Illicit drugs, alcohol, tobacco and vaping products.

Weapons (including knives)

Skate boards

Fireworks

Anything else that may seem harmful to camp

** Cell phones are allowed but must be kept in the cabins at all times.
