We welcome our new Transition Pastor!
Sylvie Bowen-Bailey grew up in Duluth, MN, on the western tip of Lake Superior, and she was baptized and confirmed in a UCC congregation. She attended Knox College in Galesburg, IL where she studied Environmental Studies and Chinese language. After recognizing a call to ministry at the time of her graduation in 2020, Sylvie took a couple of gap years during the pandemic before starting at Eden Seminary in Fall 2022. During her three years of the Master of Divinity program, she had contextual placements at Emmaus Homes and Samuel UCC and additionally served as the sabbatical interim pastor of Pilgrim UCC in Grafton, WI last summer. In her spare time, she enjoys swimming, reading, and exploring the outdoors. Pastor Sylvie is excited to get to know the congregation of St. Peter’s and to join in all the work the congregation does in the community!
