Ending hunger one step at a time!

CROP Hunger Walks are community fundraising events sponsored by Church World Service (CWS), an international relief, development, and refugee resettlement agency.  Money raised by CROP Hunger Walks nationwide is used by CWS to provide food, medical care, disaster relief, and self-help development for needy people around the world.

Join Us!

To participate in the 2019 CROP Hunger Walk, contact your church or service organization.  The recruiter there will provide you with a Donation Envelope and additional information.  Ask family, friends and group members to support you with a generous donation.

Prior to the CROP Hunger Walk, each participant should turn in their Donation Envelope with the funds raised to their Recruiter.

All Donation Envelopes must be turned in no later than October 31st.

Raise Funds Online

Here’s an easy way to increase your Walk fund-raising.  Go to https://www.crophungerwalk.org/owensvillemo/   and click on the Register button and follow the directions.  You can email family and friends anywhere in the world to help you end hunger and poverty.

How Funds Are Used Locally

Up to 25% of the money raised in our CROP Hunger Walk is distributed to local hunger-alleviating agencies in Owensville and Gerald.  These are the agencies chosen by the local CROP Hunger Walk Planning Team to receive funds this year:

Helping Hands Outreach Center, 604 S Second St, Owensville, MO – 65066, 573-437-8880

Every month, the Helping Hands Outreach Center provides nutritious food and personal hygiene items to over 100 needy families in its service area.

Gerald Food Pantry, Gerald, MO

Both centers rely on donations from residents, retailers, and congregations to fulfill its needs to the families it serves. The Owensville/Gasconade County CROP Hunger Walk provides additional revenue to our community centers by returning 25% of the funds raised during the CROP Hunger Walk.

Donor option:  Individual donors may choose to designate their gifts to an international agency other than CWS.  For a list of approved agencies, see the member directory at https://resources.crophungerwalk.org/sponsor-option/.  Designations should be noted in the indicated column.
