Dear Friends,
Open Table is the theme for this Sunday, and the scripture lessons are Luke 14:1, 7-14 and Hebrews 13:1-8, 15-16. Jesus does some rearranging of the seating arrangements at a dinner party thrown by some pharisees. He also has some interesting ideas about inviting all sorts of unusual and different people to the table. The preacher in Hebrews encourages us to show hospitality to the strangers among us. Or as one of my favorite Bible verses puts it “Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.” Hebrews 13:2, King James Version.
Have you ever entertained a stranger? Perhaps they were an angel. Showing hospitality and inviting people to join us at the table is part of the Christian Tradition. This Sunday invite someone to church and to join our Communion Table. Who knows, an angel might just show up.

Announcements:
- Sunday School and Confirmation will resume at 8:45 on Sunday, September 8.
If you know of any Middle Schoolers who would like to join our Confirmation Class, please let Pastor Stephanie know. - Youth (KLIC, FROG and TACO) will meeting on Sunday, September 8 at 5pm for Pizza and Planning in the Youth Room. Middle and High Schoolers will have the opportunity to go on a Mission Trip this Summer. This will need a lot of planning! 😊
- 8am and 10am Worship will resume on Sunday, September 8.
- Sunday, September 22 will be our Stewardship/Pledge Sunday. Our theme this year is The Way. Please prayerfully consider ways that you can support the ministry at St. Peter’s.
- Sunday, September 29 will be Rally Sunday. On this Sunday we will be singing Sunday School songs to CD recorded accompaniment. We will also recognize our Sunday School Teachers, Youth Leaders and Students.
- The CROP Walk will be on Sunday, October 13 in Buschmann Park. Registration begins at 2pm. The walk begins at 2:30.
